Klimabrølet
Campaing identity, art direction and graphic design
Klimabrølet (Norwegian for "roar for climate change") is a non-political, non-profit initiative raising awareness about the urgency of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Its goal is to pressure Norwegian politicians to uphold the 2016 Paris Agreement. The initiative’s symbol is a collective, determined roar for climate action. On August 31, 2019, 100,000 citizens gathered in front of Parliament to voice their commitment.
In collaboration with Klimabrølet and illustrator Sandra Blikås (byHands), we created a bold, flexible visual identity that balances urgency with positivity. Strong typographic illustrations in black and white convey the movement’s seriousness, while vibrant illustrations express engagement and community.
The result is a recognizable, adaptable identity empowering participants to visually unite under a shared cause.
By using typography with a strong personality we designed and animated a set of black and white typographic illustrations. At the same time we let the colorful illustrations express positiveness, engagement and community.
The result is a visual identity that expresses the essence of Klimabrølet and that is flexible and open to be used by the many participants of the event without losing recognizability.
